The first weekend of the triple header is done, with riders leaving the rolling Tuscan hills and arriving today in the historical region of Saxony. Despite only a 3-day break for the riders and teams, they have still found plenty of things off track. Here’s your summary for this week’s news, rumours, gossip, and updates.
Fabio goes solo
In a shock announcement on Instagram, Fabio Quartararo revealed he will no longer be working with his manager from 2024 onwards. Eric Mahé has worked with Fabio since his Moto3 days, helping him secure promotions, a world championship, and of course, his current factory Yamaha seat. Fabio won’t be hiring a replacement, and instead will be managed by “FQ20”, his own management company.
There doesn’t appear to be any major disagreement that has led to the split, but perhaps the news is evidence of the desperation Fabio is feeling to escape Yamaha. It is no secret that he blames his current championship standing of 8th on poor bike developments, and is clearly open to changing colours as soon as possible.
A rider who, self admittedly, has struggles with mentality, it will eb interesting to see how Fabio copes with pressure of self-management, and who he gets in as support through potentially one of his most testing seasons yet.

Enea swaps the paddock for Paco Rabanne
Enea Bastianini is the new face of Paco Rabanne’s aftershave Invictus Victory Elixir. In true perfume-advert style, the new campaign features Enea clad in a leather jacket riding round a carpark basement on a blacked out Ducati. Between this, and Pecco’s Disney cameo, the double-Italian line-up Ducati have created seems to be igniting MotoGP fever in Italy once again.
Enea has had a busy week, as he was revealed to be the cover star for June’s issue of Italian Esquire. The issue features several headshots, and an interview about his journey so far, and other revelations about his personal life. You can read the interview here (written in Italian).

All IN is now availbale for free
Marc Marquez’s access-all-areas documentary into his recovery and return to MotoGP was released on Amazon Prime earlier this year. However, for those who don’t have Prime, the whole series is now available to watch on Red Bull TV, for free.
Red Bull TV can be accessed through their app, or online.
The documentary received rave reviews for its raw honesty, and openness from Marc. It follows him from the fateful crash, to his return to the grid. See the trailer below:
Looking ahead to this weekend
Unfortunately, like every other race so far this season, we will not be racing with the full grid in Germany.
Alex Rins remains in hospital after a crash in Mugello’s sprint race left him with a broken fibula, tibia, and ankle. Joan Mir will also sit this one out, after his right hand continues to heal. Pol Espargaró will also be absent as he continues his recovery from Portugual.
Aleix Espargaró has been declared fit for this weekend, but this may change, as he has been diagnosed with 2 heel fractures. He is currently walking with crutches and has a boot on, but remains hopeful to race at the weekend.
Racing returns on Friday 16th June at the Sachsenring.
